New Chairman for Cubic Motion

Facial animation specialist Cubic Motion has announced the appointment of Simon Elms as the company’s Chairman. Simon Elms, previously CFO of Image Metrics, has a long track record of executive management in the video game and animation industries.

At the time he floated Warthog, he was the youngest Finance Director of an AIM-listed company and helped to grow that gaming business to over 250 staff before overseeing its sale to a console manufacturer.

Simon Elms explained his reasons for joining Cubic Motion: “Cubic is well-poised to become the leading supplier in the highly specialized field of facial animation. The company is built around a nucleus of the finest technologists and practitioners in the field and is a very well-structured and well-run business that clearly provides outstanding value to its clients. I’ve spent time understanding how their systems work and believe they are at the leading edge of quality and productivity - thus being able to offer world-class animation at prices that shake-up traditional outsourcing decisions.”

Dr. Gareth Edwards, Director of Cubic Motion added: “Having worked with Simon previously I had no hesitation recommending his appointment as our Chairman. Simon combines extraordinary attention to detail with an entrepreneurial mind. He has a deep understanding of our industry and is widely respected by partners and clients. We warmly welcome Simon on to the Board of Directors and look forward to his participation in our growth.”
